Measurement of Riverbank Erosion Rates of Pusu River Using Erosion Pins Method

Riverbank erosion is a major concern in all parts of the world due to its extensive impacts geomorphologically and economically. This study aims quantify rates riverbank Pusu River using pins method. Two sections river were selected namely site A B where straight section while situated on outside bend. 21 installed at each grid pattern. Measurement exposure taken from February 2019 April 2019. Field observation made identify possible factors influencing bank erosion. The average ranged between 0.05 cm/day 0.21 0.09 0.51 B. Bank failure occurred towards end measurement period high flow after heavy rainfall event. observations suggest that influenced by several such as velocity vegetative cover bank.
